I was born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and moved to the U.S. at the age of nine. As a child immigrant, I found my footing in a new culture through an unexpected path—books. I taught myself English by immersing myself in the Harry Potter series, and by the time I was ten, I was reading at a college level. That early love for language grew alongside my passion for science and the arts.
Service has always been central to my identity, deeply rooted in my culture and faith. After graduating from Michigan State University in 2022, I founded The Give Back Movement, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting homeless shelters in the Metro Detroit area and providing aid to local mosques.
Since college, I’ve worked as a medical assistant for four years to deepen my experience in healthcare and service. Outside of work, I’ve explored new hobbies—from archery and scrapbooking to training my three cats to become Olympic “cathletes.” (We’re still waiting on that gold medal.)
